BEST HOT CHOCOLATE!!! I have this every Christmas, and it really knows how to hit the spot for your hot beverage craving. Remember my mor mor who made Christmas magical? Well this is her recipe, so it is spectacular. You might as well go ahead and make it for your “Christmas break” …your taste buds will thank me.
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
1 1/3c. hot water
1-2 cans evaporated milk
4 c. heavy whipping cream
3/4 tsp. vanilla
In a saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa and salt. Add hot water, stirring to combine. Bring to boil over medium heat. Add evaporated milk and whipping cream. Heat through, but do not bring to a boil. Remove from heat: add vanilla.
-I usually go for the 2 cans of evaporated milk over 1
While you have the cocoa cooking, that is when you bring out your vintage (kind of creepy) santa pitcher. And then you enjoy!
